Two Reuters TV journalists missing in Syria
ReutersMarch 27, 2011
Two Reuters television journalists have been missing in Syria since Saturday night, when they were due to return to Lebanon.
Beirut-based producer Ayat Basma and cameraman Ezzat Baltaji had been expected to cross into Lebanon by road at approximately 1830 GMT (2:30 p.m. ET) on Saturday, where they had arranged for a taxi to pick them up from the border.
The last known contact was at 1722 GMT (1:22 p.m. ET), when Baltaji sent a phone message to a colleague in Beirut in which he said: “We will leave now.”

Gates Instructs Syrian Military to Impose Color Revolution
Gates Instructs Syrian Military to Impose Color Revolution

As we have documented, the so-called popular revolutions spreading across the Middle East are orchestrated affairs unleashed by the globalists, their NGOs, and agencies of the U.S. government.
“What happened in Georgia with the Rose Revolution and Orange Revolution in Ukraine in 2003-2004 was part of a long-term strategy orchestrated by the Pentagon, the State Department and various US-financed NGOs like Freedom House and National Endowment for Democracy to create pro-NATO regime change in those former Soviet Union areas and to literally encircle Russia,” author and researcher William Engdahl told RT in January.
”What is going on in the Middle East with the Jasmine Revolution in Tunisia that we saw a few days ago, and now in Egypt with Mubarak in his 80s, and obviously a regime that is not exactly the most stable one, we have a food crisis taking place as a backdrop and the IMF coming and telling these countries to eliminate their state food subsidies so you have, of course, the explosive background for popular unrest. Within that you have these NGOs, like Freedom House, training activists and trade unions and various other organizations to demand democracy, demand human rights and so forth,” he added.
Even members of the United Nations have accused Freedom House of being a CIA front that supports terrorists.
On Thursday, Defense Secretary Gates instructed the Syrian military to depose leader Bashar al-Assad and “empower a revolution.”
“I’ve just come from Egypt, where the Egyptian army stood on the sidelines and allowed people to demonstrate and in fact empowered a revolution. The Syrians might take a lesson from that,” Gates added.
While Assad is certainly a hereditary dictator, he is also one of the most popular leaders in the Arab world, according to a CNN Arabic poll conducted in 2009. If you follow the corporate media in the United States, however, you would think Assad is as reviled as Mubarak was in Egypt.
Internet activists and organizers in academia have been financed with over half a billion dollars through the State Department’s Middle East Partnership Initiative program to overthrow outdated dictatorships in the Middle East. Gates’ comments reveal Syria will be the next domino to topple over. The globalists are exploiting Syria’s difficult economic and social conditions, including high unemployment, rising food prices, constraints on personal freedom, and endemic corruption.
Gates did not bother to mention that Egyptians will not be allowed to protest their new government. On Wednesday, the Egyptian cabinet approved a decree that criminalizes strikes, protests, demonstrations and sit-ins that interrupt private or state owned businesses or affect the economy in any way.
The new Egyptian government is a creature of the Supreme Armed Forces Council headed by Field Marshal Mohamed Hussein Tantawi, who served as Mubarak’s defense minister for two decades. The military is controlled by Egypt’s elite and thus the globalists now engineering color revolutions throughout the neighborhood.
In order to head off the demands of Gates and the globalists, on Thursday Assad agreed to unprecedented reforms to his one-party Baathist state. Piecemeal reforms, however, will not be acceptable to the global elite and the political establishment in the United States.
Gates calls for Syrian forces to move aside
Gates calls for Syrian forces to move aside

Syria should follow Egypt’s lead and the Syrian army should “empower a revolution”, Robert Gates, US secretary of defence, argued as thousands marched in a southern city.
Mr Gates made his comments – some of the toughest remarks to date by a US official about the rule of Bashar al-Assad, Syria’s president – on a day of further upheaval in the Middle East and beyond.
The White House signalled it was preparing for a change in power in Yemen, where it has been allied with the government of Ali Abdullah Saleh, president. Nato allies reached a deal in which the alliance will take over command of the Libyan no-fly zone, although responsibility for strikes on forces loyal to Col Muammer Gaddafi will not immediately come under the Nato umbrella.
Drawing a parallel between the unrest in Syria and the protests that unseated Hosni Mubarak, Egypt’s former president, Mr Gates said: “I’ve just come from Egypt, where the Egyptian army stood on the sidelines and allowed people to demonstrate and in fact empowered a revolution. The Syrians might take a lesson from that.”

Syrian Uprising Is Latest Globalist-Backed Coup d’état
Syrian Uprising Is Latest Globalist-Backed Coup d’état
Opposition is a conglomeration of Western-backed “human rights activists.”

The Syrian revolution uses a strikingly familiar logo.
The Otpor fist was originally used in Serbia in 2000, and
handed off to the various movements trained by the US
funded CANVAS organization, including the Tunisian &
Egyptian youth movements- now the Syrian Youth Revolution.
“A prominent Syrian opposition figure says the country is “a bomb, ready to explode” as protesters demand freedom and an end to president Bashar al-Assad’s “cancerous regime,”" reports Australia’s ABC News. This prominent Syrian opposition figure is “human rights activist” Haitham Maleh, of the Human Rights Association of Syria, recently released from a Syrian prison.
Haitham Maleh, and Muhannad al-Hassani, another activist whose plight is being used to stir up unrest, both received “pro-bono” legal services from the CFR stacked “Freedom Now” organization. Freedom Now receives funding from the Moriah Fund, the Lantos Foundation which includes Israeli President Shimon Peres as an “adviser,” Real Networks Foundation (which also funds Democracy Now) and the Charles Bronfman Prize which proclaims on its website “Jewish Values. Global Impact.” Freedom Now also receives “pro-bono” legal support from the Pillsbury law firm, a CFR corporate member.
Freedom Now specializes in “political prisoners” from various regions around the world that attract the attention of globalist ambitions. Leveraging these “human rights abuses” affords the globalists a perceived moral high ground from which they can exert pressure on target nations. This is very similar to the operation being run by Chatham House globalist Robert Amsterdam of Amsterdam & Peroff, who is defending western-backed Mikhail Khodorkovsky to ratchet up pressure on Russia, and Thaksin Shinawatra to exert pressure on Thailand.
Understanding who these “human rights activists” are, who is supporting them, and the role they play in the latest round of the Western-backed “Arab Spring,” we can better understand articles like Jerusalem Post’s ‘More than 100 killed in Syrian anti-government rallies.’ In the very first paragraph, the article concedes that the reports were cited from human rights activists and witnesses, thus a continuation of the absurd, unsubstantiated reporting seen earlier in Libya where unverified reports by the criminally irresponsible corporate media laid the groundwork for an equally criminal military intervention.

Syria & Yemen: Tying up Globalist Loose Ends
Syria & Yemen: Tying up Globalist Loose Ends

Once again, “claims” and “allegations” herald broader western meddling in the Middle East under the guise of the suspiciously ubiquitous “Arab Spring.” As the global corporate-financier oligarchy directs US, British, and French planes to bomb yet another Arab nation, their media tentacles are searching for sensationalism and sympathy in Syria to bolster destabilization efforts on the ground. Indeed the “Otpor fist” that heralded unrest from Tunisia to Egypt is now being “raised” in Syria.
In a recent TIME magazine article titled, “Arab Spring: Is a Revolution Starting Up in Syria?,” it cites “descriptions” of protests, “claims” of government brutality, and “alleged details” of protesters rising up against the Syrian government, long slated for removal by the global corporate-financier oligarchs.
Yemen as well, cited as an example of Western hypocrisy for not garnering it’s own UN “no-fly zone” in reality doesn’t need one, as the British created and managed Muslim Brotherhood and elements within the Yemeni army are already on their way to ousting President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
Mohammed Qahtan, Yemen’s Al-Islah (Muslim Brotherhood) leader, is leading the calls to oust Saleh from power, not “the people of Yemen.” In a March 23, 2011 Reuters report, Qahtan was quoted as warning Saleh, “We will arrive where you are and we will remove you.” In the same report, the US gives yet another shocking display of feigned surprise over the Middle East upheaval, voicing concerns that Saleh’s ouster would be a blow to their fight against “Al Qaeda.” As we will soon see, such upheaval has been in the works for 20 years, and this dishonesty now being portrayed since the unrest began in Tunisia is yet another look into the bottomless well of depravity from which our “leadership” reigns.
The Greater Middle East
Concurrently the US is providing Al-Qaeda linked militant extremists in Libya with air support in their bid to oust Qaddafi. A recent US Army report aired by geopolitical analyst and historian Dr. Webster Tarpley shows the US Army noticed in 2007 that many of the Al Qaeda operatives sent to destabilize Iraq were from Libya. More specifically, these operatives were from the current eastern rebel strongholds of Benghazi and Darnah, now under the protection of a US led no-fly zone.
While this may seem to defy all reason, it only does so if measured against the now discredited official narrative peddled since the “War on Terror” began on September 11, 2001. If America is truly waging global war against Al Qaeda, indeed, nothing about the current crisis in the Middle East makes sense, officially or unofficially. If however, Al Qaeda represents a militant force still as armed, supported, and directed by the West as it was during its US-backed inception during the Soviet-Afghan war in the 1980′s, it makes perfect sense.
Al Qaeda has made it possible for the US to not only justify its own military adventures in the Middle East, but has given them a militant force to badger target regimes as an alternative to the “moderate” Muslim Brotherhood and the US State Department’s armies of youth activists. That America and Al Qaeda appear as “mortal enemies” helps the global corporate-financier oligarchy exert military force while circumventing the untidy anti-Western sentiment that accompanies each Western intervention.
The broader plan, of course, is to overrun the entire Middle East, erase entire civilizations and build a servile homogeneous regional block to be rolled into a greater global government. While this sounds like the stuff of wild conspiracy theories, former NATO commander Wesley Clark stated that in 1991, Paul Wolfowitz was already determined to use US military might to conquer the Middle East.
