Teacher fired for bumper sticker highlighting the over-medication of children

When Tarah Ausburn, a former English teacher at Imagine Prep High School in Surprise, Ariz., refused to remove a bumper sticker from her car that asked the question, “Have you drugged your kids today?” officials fired her, according to reports from KPHO CBS 5 in Phoenix. The sticker, which Ausburn told reporters makes a statement about the over-medication of today’s children, sits among 60 other controversial stickers that may have also played a role in her dismissal.

“It’s kind of a criticism of us tending to over-medicate hyperactive kids who might not need those medications,” said Ausburn to KPHO, likely referring to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) drugs like Ritalin that are widely overused and abused (http://www.naturalnews.com/ADHD_dru…).

Ausburn had only worked at the school for two months when she was notified that some of her stickers were upsetting some parents, and that they did not fit into the school’s culture. School officials told Ausburn that she could either remove the stickers or park her car off campus. She refused both options and was consequently released.

“You have to remain true to your beliefs, you have to stand up for what you believe is right and I don’t believe it’s right to censor people just because your opinion doesn’t agree with theirs,” she said.

Ausburn told 12 News in Phoenix that when parents first began filing complaints about the stickers with administrators at Imagine, Principal John Buzzard supported her. When parents did not get their way at the school, they allegedly went above Buzzard’s authority to the regional board which ultimately sided against her, she said.

“This doesn’t affect the quality of my teaching,” said Ausburn to 12 News, referencing her defense before the regional board. “I’ve never been verbally reprimanded for any of my teaching instruction, I’ve never been written up at Imagine or any other school … this doesn’t impact my ability to teach.”

Ausburn initially tried to regain her position at Imagine following the incident, but has yet to receive a response from the school. She is now pursuing legal action to “push the issue.”

Other bumper stickers on Ausburn’s car include, “I’m Already Against the Next War,” “Military Solutions are Problems,” “Don’t Believe Everything You Think,” and “Jesus Called, He Wants His Religion Back.”

Japan halts Pfizer, Sanofi vaccines after four die

Japan’s health ministry has halted the use of vaccines made by Pfizer Inc and Sanofi-Aventis SA to prevent meningitis and pneumonia following the deaths of four children.

The infants died shortly after receiving the vaccines and while it was unclear if there was link between the deaths and vaccines, use of Pfizer’s Prevenar and Sanofi’s ActHIB will be suspended while the deaths are investigated, the ministry said in a statement.

A ministry safety panel is scheduled to discuss findings in the investigations on Tuesday.

In February last year health authorities in the Netherlands said no relation was found between Prevenar and the deaths of three infants who had received the vaccine.

Call for boys to get HPV vaccine

The Daily Mirror has reported that “experts are calling for boys to be vaccinated against the human papilloma virus (HPV) after a study has found that 50% of men are infected with the virus”. Some strains of HPV have been linked to cancers, including cervical cancer in women and cancers of the penis, oral cavity and anus. Some strains also cause genital warts in males and females.

The news is based on an international study which checked 1,159 men for the virus every six months for over two years. The research in Brazilian, Mexican and American adults looked at rates of new infections and how quickly the men cleared their infections. It reportedly found that each year 6% of men acquire the cancer-causing strains of HPV. It also found that having a higher number of female and male sexual partners was linked to a higher risk of infection.

DEA to legalize marijuana chemical for Big Pharma but keep it a crime for everyone else

The War on Drugs has always been about protecting the profits of the drug companies which have a long and well-documented history of copying street drugs, repackaging them as "medications" and selling them to children as FDA-approved drugs (see below).

Today, yet another example emerges as the DEA moves to legalize THC in Big Pharma's pills while simultaneously making it illegal for anyone else to grow, sell or possess THC. The DEA, you see, is working to change the classification of THC from a schedule I substance (like street heroin) to a schedule III drug (pharmaceuticals). So if Big Pharma grows its own marijuana plants, extracts the THC and puts it into a "pot pill," those pills will be perfectly legal. They're already FDA approved, actually, when made with the synthetic version of THC.

But if a guy grows the very same chemical in his backyard, then extracts THC from those plants -- even for his own personal use -- suddenly he's guilty of committing a federal crime and will likely be subjected to an armed raid by DEA agents.

The DEA answers to its pharma slave masters

Why would the DEA decide to legalize THC only for pharmaceutical companies? Well, because Big Pharma requested it, of course! As the DEA says on the subject:

"The DEA has received four petitions from companies that have products that are currently the subject of ANDAs (abbreviated new drug applications) under review by the FDA. ...While the petitioners cite that their generic products are bioequivalent to Marinol, their products do not meet schedule III current definition provided above. Therefore, these firms have requested that 21 CFR 1308.13(g)(1) be expanded to include naturally derived or synthetically produced dronabinol."

Court rules against Pittsburgh parents in drug vaccine case

The U.S. Supreme Court today ruled against a Mt. Lebanon family in a case dealing with child vaccines, upholding limits to lawsuits against drugmakers.

In a 6-2 decision, the court ruled that the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act prohibited the family of Hannah Bruesewitz from taking their claim against drugmaker Wyeth to state court. When she was an infant, Hannah sustained violent seizures that have rendered her mute and in need of constant care, a condition the family contends was caused by a diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis vaccine produced by Wyeth that the company later discontinued.

But the Vaccine Act established specialized no-fault vaccine courts to hear such claims. The Bruesewitz case against the Tri-Immunol vaccine was rejected in 1995, with the vaccine court ruling the family could not prove the vaccine had caused the seizures.

Two British doctors recently wrote a piece in the BBC urging the U.K. National Health Service (NHS) to switch from Merck’s Cervarix human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine to GlaxoSmithKline’s (GSK) Gardasil HPV vaccine, in its mass vaccination program for young girls. And the two “experts” admit that they only say publicly what helps the vaccine to be well received by the public.

“We, as consultants in sexual health, have been told to say nothing publicly that would damage the current (HPV) vaccine campaign,” they state in their piece.

Drs. Colm O’Mahony and Steve Taylor insist that because Gardasil allegedly protects against genital warts as well as HPV, it is superior to Cervarix, which NHS currently administers to young girls. As long as Gardasil is the same price or cheaper than Cervarix, then NHS should use it, wrote the doctors. And if it is more expensive, then Cervarix is the next best option, they say.

But what is missing from their recommendations is the fact that Dr. O’Mahony has been on the advisory boards of both GSK and Merck, and has received “lecture fees” for his services. This clear conflict of interest may be the precise reason why no mention is made in the BBC piece about the countless thousands of young girls that have become debilitated or died from both Cervarix and Gardasil.

Neither Cervarix nor Gardasil has ever even been proven effective. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has known since at least 2003 that HPV is not even linked to cervical cancer, which is the whole reason it is supposedly being pushed in the first place (http://www.naturalnews.com/022404.html). 72 students not allowed into school

LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WFLI) - Many Tippecanoe School Corporation (TSC) high school students were not allowed through their schools' doors Monday morning.
31 high schoolers from Harrison and 41 from McCutcheon aren't allowed to go inside their high schools until they get all of their immunization shots. These students aren't up to date with their vaccines.

TSC Assistant Superintendent David Notary said it's state code that after several warnings, students can't attend school until they are up to date with their immunization shots.

He said the TSC is actually fortunate it only has 72 students missing classes because of this.

Notary said 1,288 students didn't have up to date shot records in December. Numerous letters were sent to students and their parents to inform them about updating immunization records.

As if flouride and hexavalent chromium in public water supplies aren’t bad enough, health authorities are now pushing for the addition of drug statins as well. Drug companies claim that statins will lower cholesterol and prevent heart attacks and strokes, but researchers have proven that the drugs only benefit a quarter of people taking them. There are some very troubling side-effects, especially if there is no history of heart problems.

 

A new study by the Cochrane Library is highlighted in the following article. Their review of statin trials found symptoms of “short-term memory loss, depression and mood swings,” that were purposely minimized by the drug companies funding the research. Statins have also been linked to a greater risk of liver dysfunction, acute kidney failure, cataracts and muscle damage.
